Life’s trails can be tough. It’s natural to feel a little lost sometimes – we get it.
Since 1961, we’ve been guiding people just like you down life’s winding paths – toward dreams, toward goals, and toward brighter futures.
Rooted in northern values – community, integrity, and hard work – we care deeply about our members, their families, and the places we call home.
With a small-town touch and a helping hand, we offer the kind of personal service that makes every member feel like a neighbor, not a number.
We’ve grown alongside our communities, but our mission has never changed: to make available the best possible financial products to our members, by providing competitive rates, member education, and outstanding service.
We’re all on our own journey – and we’re honored to be part of yours.
Indianhead Credit Union began in 1961, founded by eight hardworking neighbors in Washburn County, Wisconsin, who saw a need for fair, accessible financial services in their community. What started with a small membership fee, a handful of shares, and a single location in a Co-op store has grown into a thriving, multi-county credit union
Over the decades, ICU has expanded services from simple loans to a full range of modern financial solutions – including checking, real estate loans, online banking, mobile access, and more – all while staying true to our small-town roots. Through mergers and growth, we’ve broadened our reach to serve communities across Wisconsin and Minnesota. Today, we continue our journey with the same mission we began with: putting members first, building trust, and improving lives.
Since our beginning, our core purpose has remained clear – to serve the people in our communities with financial products and services that make a difference. We’re here to help our members manage, grow, and protect what matters most, offering everything from basic accounts to complex lending solutions. As a not-for-profit, member-owned credit union, our success is measured by yours. That means every service we offer and every decision we make is guided by our commitment to doing what’s right – for our members, our communities, and the future we’re building together.
Our core value of improving the lives of our members is more than a statement – it’s the promise the guides everything we do. It means listening, building relationships, strengthening communities, and creating opportunities for every person we serve. We measure our success by the positive difference we make in our member’s lives, whether that’s through financial education, personalized guidance, or lending a hand when it’s needed most.
Our vision is to provide excellent, professional, and confidential service with a small-town touch – putting people at the heart of everything we do. This vision is about more than transactions, it’s about building relationships rooted in trust, respect, and compassion. It means combining the expertise of a modern financial institution with the warmth of a small-town community – ensuring every interaction reflects our commitment to improving lives.
We believe putting members first is more than a practice – it’s our core action. It’s about blending professional expertise with a small-town touch, building relationships rooted in trust and respect. Every decision we make is guided by this promise, because when we put members first, we improve lives, strengthen communities, and create lasting partnerships that stand the test of time.
